A few years ago I wrote an article for the Kapiti Fusiliers website about my very old-school Seven Years War Bavarian army made from original plastic Spencer Smith figures back when I was in my 20s. This site no longer exists, however.
A chat with a friend today reminded me about this article, so I thought others might also be interested in a couple of the pics.
So much Old School eye-candy!
Nostalgia indeed, but warm thanks for sharing nonetheless 🙂

Just the way to treat those old SSMs.
I’ve just picked up a batch on eBay and am looking to take them in this direction with some re-touching.
Cheers,

Very nice little army! It’s amazing how much the use of a technical pen or artline pen can elevate very ordinary figures into a joy to look at en masse.
It’s a shame they don’t get to see much action…

Ion
Beautiful, just beautiful (and I am not into this period)!

For all that are just ‘plastic toy soldiers’ you did a surprisingly decent job on them and they look good en masse. The black lining works rather well.
I remember seeing these figures back in the old days of the Kapiti Military Miniatures Society. Phil Clarke
Haha… Now that is a LONG time ago!!
